Is masturbation a sin?

Alright, I am having a battle with myself. I have read that masturbation is a sin;however, it says nowhere in the bible that masturbation is directly a sin. But, it is what we think that is the sin while masturbation. I just nee some other peoples opinions on this. Thank you very much.
